Mother's Day

I seem to always get sick before trips, vacation, etc. Even as a kid, it was given that if we had something special planned, I would get sick. That is how I am feeling today. I have been looking forward to our weekend in Ferndale to spend time with my parents for the last couple weeks. I already knew the weekend would entail dividing and planting dahlias, trips to the nurseries for annuals, a special Sunday brunch with my mom and grandma, and more. But of course, I am now sick. I woke up yesterday morning with a headache, sinus pain and a sore throat; it is even worse today. I am praying it is feeling better tomorrow, but who's to say. At least there is no fever, so I am not thinking I have Swine Flu... oops, I mean H1N1.

I do want to wish all those mothers out there a Happy Mother's Day! I am fortunate enough to be able to spend the weekend (not just the day) with my mom and I can't wait. I pray that one day I will be able to spend Mother's Day as a mother, but only time will tell on that one. So for now, here is an early Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there, you gals deserve it!
